Finally I thought that you might like to know that in acknowledgment of our efforts, a member of the Heroes Welcome team was recently invited to attend a special dinner at Buckingham Palace.
Wishing you the compliments of the season and thank you for your continued support to all who serve in the British Armed forces.
Having just returned from a visit, I can confirm that there are now loads of Black Cabs all proudly sporting their Heroes Welcome in London stickers with pride, the drivers are keen to join just need to get the sticker out to them, so we still have some sticker to distribute, if the guys at LTDA, Computer Cabs or Hailo want more stickers then pleas let us know.
I am delighted to inform you that after a rather quiet summer we are now busy again with enquires coming in from communities wishing to join up to Heroes Welcome and I can confirm intentions to launch from the following Council areas : Borrowdale, Keswick, Barnsley, Crawley (Gatwick) and Caerphilly which will be our very first Welsh member.
A number of us visited Woolwich Barracks in order to pay our respects to Fusilier Lee Rigby. It was extremely moving to see so many from such diverse backgrounds and creeds gathered together in quiet reflection and hope that this coming together of thought and prayer, will be some comfort to the Rigby family and all those affected by this tragic and horrific incident.
Just to remind those holding Armed Forces Days on June 29th or Homecoming Parades later in the year, Heroes Welcome is a perfect way for your wider community to show appreciation to those who serve in a meaningful, appropriate and perhaps more permanent manner.
