We are pleased to announce that Hampshire, the birthplace of the Royal Navy, British Army and the Royal Air Force, has joined the Heroes Welcome scheme.
As you may know Hampshire has very close ties with all facets of the armed forces and we are very happy with their envolvement with Heroes Welcome.
Armed Forces Community Covenant is a massive step in the right direction, however in the short term it does create a few of challenges for the Heroes Welcome Community Partnership, particular in the areas of duplication and confusion.
As a result of members concerns I have met with the Covenant Delivery Team at the MOD and we have agreed to work together to ensure a joined up and unified approach regarding the use of Logos etc which is particularly important in a visual support scheme such as Heroes Welcome. There are of course many other ways that communities can give support to members of the Armed Forces and these are detailed in the Community Covenant Document and I would recommend that all Corporate members visit the MOD link available on our joining page.
Borough of Great Yarmouth will be joining us on the 5th July, which means that all the "Big Four" British Seaside resorts are now members of the HW family. So a very warm welcome to the Mayor and People of Great Yarmouth and on behalf of those serving, our sincere thanks for your support.
We have been contacted by a number of national companies who are interested in joining the Heroes Welcome partnership. I am delighted to be able to confirm that the first national corporation to join us as an independent member will be Taylor Wimpey PLC one of the Uk's largest national home builders, the company already gives special recognition to service families and will be adopting the Heroes Welcome logo to help promote this ethos.
Over the last three weeks local Heroes Welcome schemes have been launched by the Mayors of, Beeston, Middlesbrough and Chesterfield, so a very warm welcome to you all and thank you for your support!
